Words of the Week

Kaden has added a few more words to his vocabulary. Ouwee, and apple. That's all hes saying right now. Its so cute. I'm proud of him, and of me. i told myself that i wouldn't get to watch the hills tonight if i didn't read one of the 3 stories i have left for my Mass Media class, and i did. and i proud, and i liked it. shocking. It was like 6 pages long, which isn't a lot, but it took me about 30 minutes to get through it. its a hard read, a lot of material, dense and dry. so i was surprise that i actually wanted to keep reading. It was about copyright, which i didn't know anything about. I have my first mid-term on Thursday, right before we leave to go to Rochester!! yay!! So that's why I'm getting a jump start on the whole studying thing. :) did i mention its essay? that's going to suck. i don't know if you've notice, but sometimes its hard for me to express my self in words. I'm not very good at that. I'm more of an action person i think. yeah.





yesterday we went to Gigi and papas for dinner and that was fun. we had chili. then kaden and i went on the four-wheeler, and got so totally lost. it was crazy. but we found our way out, and on the way there i saw this cool little animals house. so i went back and took pictures. (below) i was a little scared that something might jump out at me. i kept picturing the wolf from the movie The Neverending Story, that was so freaky.







today i read about what happened in Wisconsin. It was so sad. I cried a little. My BFF Ashley calls me a big baby. I am a big baby. ;) and OMGosh... for my Mass Media class we have to read the NY Times everyday and i usually don't. but today i decided to pick it up, and on the front of the business page is my most favorite Friday night show... INTERVENTION. It was all about how the producers are letting the addicts do unlawful things under the influence, like driving drunk, and questioning when the right time to step in is. I actually read it. It was awesome.

Single Parent Class

YAY.. finally i meet people. tonight we went to this single parent class at the campus daycare center. Its every Wednesday from 530 to 7. I loved it. They feed us dinner, and then the kids play while the parents in a separate room talk and stuff. it was a lot of fun, and i finally feel like I'm going to make some friends. Which is way awesome! I think Kaden had a lot of fun also. He went straight to bed tonight, he was pooped. Unlike last night when he stayed up until 11:30. Ugh.. i know mom... I'm supposed to let him scream. but he literally screamed for 20 minutes, and was thrashing himself EVERYWHERE. and he didn't stop scream and throwing himself all over the room even when i took him out of his crib. So i think it was more that he just didn't want to go to bed. But, tonight there was NO battle, which is always good. Well, that's all for now... :)

Environmental Earth and Space Studies! woot!

Okay, so... my first official degree i was going to get was nursing, and for some reason i didn't want to.. i didn't know why. But when i found out i could do something else i definitely jumped at the opportunity. So i changed it to biology, and then found out i can do the same thing in chemistry that i was going to do in biology, and liked that much better. Well.. now i have changed it once again. Now it is ...SURPRISE... a bachelors in environmental earth and space studies!!! yay!! I'm sooo excited. woo. hahaha, JK!! i changed it back to nursing. which i AM really excited about now. I want to help deliver the babies. I think the reason behind that too is my nurse that i had watched TV the whole time. yeah... no joke. Plus nursing has more of a personal touch to it. I'll get to interact with people rather than petri dishes.

Anyway, its also funny that i said environmental earth and space studies because if i couldn't do the nursing i was considering that. I'm taking this AWESOME class call People and The Environment. Its SO great. I'm really learning something FINALLY. And I'm really interested in what the professors are talking about. Today we learned about Carrying Capacity, 2ND Law of thermodynamics, the energy flow through food chains. Its VERY interesting. I love it. I will NEVER skip that class (its only once a week too). And for the small group i have for that class we are going to Bemidji State Park on Thursday to go on the Bog Walk. I'm so excited!

A Boring Week..

So nothing super interesting happened this week really. I had a chem test, worked a little bit. But nothing too interesting. I did however get my math test back, and the average was 54% which is a D, and awful. The teacher wasn't too happy. So i didn't feel too bad when i got a 42%. which... is bad. but, obviously... hes not the greatest teacher. But i think i'll do much better on this next test. ANYWAY.... so like i said nothing too big happened. Nonna bought kaden this super cool toy picture is below.



How cool is that? He is going to LOVE it. i just know it.





Well, I'm excited to go down to Rochester in two weeks for Ashley's baby shower. I cant wait. I've been super board up here. Although i think I'm going to invite the other Kelsey up here that i know to go to Karaoke Night at the 71 Bar. Gigi said she would babysit so that's cool. Oh! Something we did this weekend was go to this Kid Operation thing at the mall. It was cool. They took his picture, and took his fingerprints and DNA swab stuff, and now if he ever gets stolen... (hopefully not) I'll have everything i need. Isn't that cool? yeah... well, were are gonna play with his new hot wheels. He doesn't like it when I'm on the computer... because then I'm not playing with him. :)

After Seven Days of Rest

So... the seven days are up... and i was bored. really really really bored. i broke the rule a few times, but that's just in my nature. But last weekend my friend Ashley came up and she hung out with us. It was so fun. we dyed my hair on Friday night... just a little darker. ( i needed it sooo bad too) and then we watched a movie, we went out to the campsite which was way fun too, we did LOTS. i miss her a lot. above is a picture i took.. she 7 months prego. I'm excited for her. its also a little cool in a sad sorta way but we have the same situation with baby's and baby daddy drama. So its kinda fun to have someone to share that with.


Speaking of baby, Kaden has had quite a week. But that's next, right now is still about me. Soo... on Saturday night i had a super high temp. and i did ALL week, until about Thursday. i had a fever, a head ace, i didn't want to do anything.. and so i didn't. and it was fun for a while, but i have a lot of homework to catch up on. OKAY so... now about the baby.




Kaden has done a lot this week. i made a list.


1. He can SAY 'all done' with the sign language


2. He can do the sign for 'please'


3. The following are things he can point to on his body when you ask him to:
-ears, eyes, toes, diaper (and he can say diaper)
-Mommy's toes, Mommy's eyes, and I'm sure there is MORE to come.



Yesterday (Saturday) we went to Gigi's for dinner. We went on a boat ride, and i really wanted to see what wild rice looked like because I'm learning a lot about it in school right now. So, all thanks to me... we get stuck. And poor grandma has to get out of the boat, in the water, and push us. i felt bad. but i didn't really want to get in it either. but we got out, and it was fun. i also saw this super cute turtle.. it was a small one and bright green and yellow and red. it was cute. but anyway...


We also JUST got out of the emergency room about 30 minutes ago (he is napping right now). Kaden crushed his thumb in the door when he was trying to shut it. And it started to bleed a little, but that's not why i decided to take him in. It was because his thumb swelled up instantly 3 times the size. it was awful. But this visit was a pleasant, and super fast one. so, we were probably there less than an hour, which is AWESOME. So, it isn't broken, and hes gonna be fine.

a quick post here... i wont be posting for the next week, i have a "media abstinence" assignment i have to do for a week.. which means no electronics or anything. so... that's pretty much it. it'll suck, and be hard to do. but i gotta do it, and it'll be interesting to see if i CAN do it. Later

Almost the Weekend!!

Hey, its almost the weekend and i am psyched my bff Ashley is coming up this weekend to visit me.. oh yeah, and the rest of the fam is too (*wink) :) hehe. yay! :) anyway... BIG milestone happened today... sorry.. nothing really about kaden, but about something else.... We FINALLY got child support. I'm pumped. is about time if you ask me, and honestly everyone thought we wouldn't see a penny. which i thought sometimes, but not anymore.. and who knows, it may not last long. we'll have to wait and see. maybe he'll turn out to be a not so deadbeat.. just a little bit of a deadbeat.. like.... a junkie still though. oh well.. but that's the milestone. it may not seem like a big deal, but it is. Especially if JAMES is paying. before now, i never got anything, even while we were dating. so this is huge. but anyway. I'm way excited for this weekend. i cant wait.. its tomorrow... yay. OH! and i got a job at school, working in the 'stockroom'. it where all the chemicals, beakers, and cool stuff is. I'm excited! i start Monday! :) yay. so... we'll see how that goes too. well, i gotta go get my laundry. :) later!!

Crazy Week

I havent been able to post lately because its been crazy busy. I had a test this week, and got lots of homework to do tonight, but i thought i would post quick because starting sunday i wont be able, rather allowed to post. My mass media class teacher is having us do this assignment where we are not allowed to use electronics of any kind for a week. There are excepttions like for work, and stuff like that, but otherwise none. so, i think it will be kind of interesting. we also have to keep a journal, and stuff like that. we'll see if its going to be easy. kadens doing good. i taught him how to hug today, hes a quick learner. its so cute. its starting to get cold up here too. long sleeves, and pants baby. so i had to go buy kaden some because he doesnt have much. Gigi bought him this super cute outfit. but anyway... this nasty thing happend on monday. i was talking to some football player about our chem homework and he asks me for this bottle i was done using and since i wasnt using it i gave it to him. well i thought he was going to fill it up with water, but no... instead he filled it up with chewing tabacco spit. it was sooooooooooooo nasty. and he was cute.. but he isnt so cute anymore. yuck. well, thats all for now.

Weekend Blues...;)

Its sad... because its raining and we cant go outside. But... we did take a ROAD TRIP. woot. we went to Grand Forks to shop.. that pretty much it. But then i remembered that i had some friends at the UND, but i couldnt get a hold of any of them. Kaden was extremely well behaved. He slept almost the whole way there, and almost the WHOLE way back. Which he never does, i was quite surprised. This morning i thought i lost my ipod, and cried. But this afternoon i found it. So now im reallly happy. Kaden and I are still batteling this cold. It really sucks. Im finally getting used to school, and some of the classes are fun and some are not so fun. I already have a test in one of my classes on tuesday. That will be one class im not going to like. Its call Mass Media and Society, and the teacher is like super smart, and uses big words and concepts that ive never heard about. And to top it all off he expects us to think and use big words like he does, and im not very literate.. if you can tell. I dont use HUGE words... so... im gonna pretty much suck at this class. i dont know... we'll see i guess.

A Day at the Park

We went to the park the other day, it was a lot of fun!! I've posted some pictures and a video. I didnt have a lot of time to post this weekend, i was so busy with homework. It was crazy. I kept calling chris for math homework. its been really hard to remember everything to do. i gotta get some kind of planner this just to put the assignments in. Kadens got a cold, and gave it to me. My throat KILLS. Last night kaden and i went to dinner at gigi's, and gigipa. it was cool. Gigi was singing pat-a-cake and doing the hand motions. Kaden starts clapping, and then does the "roll it" part, where you roll your arms. It was soo cute. hes learning so much. Tonight we have a mandtory meeting for a dorm hall. Im excited because im hoping to meet some people.. that are nice, and not mean. :) AND friendly so i can make friends, and set up playdates and stuff. Well, thats all for now. :)

A Night With Gigi

So tonight we went out to dinner at the Green Mill with Gigi, and it was great! Kaden was a little tired so he wasn't all happy to be out, but he was okay. Kaden took a bad fall today at Wal-Mart. He was standing in the cart... in the seat part. And i was holding him while tickling him, and as i went to reach for my purse, he went to sit down... he fell to the side and right out of the cart. He only cried for about 30 seconds, but i felt soo bad (and a little embarrassed). But hes okay, thankfully. Today i bought a bike, and we went for a bike ride. It was fun! So im excited to ride it to school, maybe pick him up for daycare and such. so, yay for us! I gotta go study some Mass Media stuff... later gater

Woot!! Its The Weekend!! :)

Yay its the weekend... and a LONG one at that. Which is good, because i have A LOT to do. Besides the pile of homework, i have a pile of housework to do also. i let my room get a little carried away. and i have decided that i am only going to clean kadens room once a week. he just takes out all his toys the next day. Yesterday the daycare lady took off, which isnt so great because i dont have may people who can watch him everytime she wants to take off a day. Thank god gigi wasnt too busy, and willing to watch him. they had a good time i think. :) Im gonna have to let her know.... this is not acceptable. ;) Well, our pancakes our done. I'll prob post later, if something soo cool happened. (hopefully) :)

Just Another Day

So today was pretty ordinary, except for 2 things that happened. first, at dinner kaden was eating a hot dog. I cut them into pretty small slices, and started cutting them in half while he grabbed one and stuck it in his mouth. Usually he can chew them, but for some reason he just swallows it and starts gagging a little bit. So I'm watching to see if hes gonna spit it back out (keep in mind he IS still breathing) but he doesn't, instead he goes into full on CHOKING... literally choking. I'm like totally freaking out!! in a matter of like 3 seconds or less i pick him up and tip him on tummy in the air, it he spit that damn hot dog right out. i was crying. i thought he was going to die. it was sad. but he didn't, and hes still alive. and to prove it i have attached a photo above taken just minutes ago. He sleeping...or maybe not! ;)

okay well, that was just ONE thing that happened today. so... the second is that after dinner i messing around with the TV trying to get it working so we could watch monster inc. Right as i plug something in the fire alarms went off, not it out apartment, but in out WHOLE building, and the building next to us. We all had to be evacuated. And mom and them all know what i do when i am at home by myself... i take off my pants. i don't like pants, i just don't. i feel more free or something i don't know. (tmi right dad and Nance?) SO.. again for the SECOND time today, i was freaking out!! I was scrambling to put my pants on (i had to find them first), grab my shoes, grab kadens shoes, and my cell. it would have been funny to see. So that was my day, all of them up here have been interesting already. That all for now. gonna go read some global pollution stuff. *yawn

A Beautiful Day by the Lake

Yesterday i was sick so i didn't do much but lay around and be sick. That was hard to do after i picked up Kaden from daycare. Hes so energetic...even when HES sick. I feel better today thought. Before chemistry i went to read the 1st and 2ND chapter of the chem book...outside, along the lake. Why OH why did i do that? It was SO beautiful out i couldn't even concentrate. The lake was literally taunting me, with its glistening waters, like someone had poured a big tub of glitter in it. Not to mention the calming breeze quietly saying... come bask in my water goodness. AND theres also the so adorable ducklings learning to fish along the shore. So cute. So i didn't get much reading some before class. But that's okay, it was all about elements and atoms. I already know that stuff, so its basically review. We are having dinner with gigi, and gigipa tonight. Woo chicken and rice. Its gonna be FUN!! woot! well... that's all for now! :)

The College Life

Its only been one day, but i like it. Its that simple. I like it. Its not even bad that i half to walk to school. i like it. :) Kaden is growing everyday, and today... ooooh, he did something AWESOME! When i said wanna brush your teeth? He put his finger in his mouth and moved it back and forth. it was SOOOOO cute. :) soo.. basically this will be about us, kaden and i. And of course, out spectacular lives, livin the college life. :)
